Tight woven filter fabrics can use the finest diameter ZYEX yarns.
These can be single monofils, with diameters down to a few 10's of microns woven into precision filters for fuel or clean air applications, or tougher monofil or multifil yarns woven multi-layer to withstand the pressure dewatering of chemical slurries or the heat compaction of fibrous board.
Felts are usually produced by the needling of 3.3 or 13 d.p.f. crimped ZYEX staple fibre into a ZYEX multifil scrim fabric.This results in a fine particle in-depth filter structure.
Applications can be in air filtration or as a resilient roll covering or as a high temperature capping of a conventional felt surface designed to prevent friction burns.
